I really enjoy winter! When I was a child, I dreamed of living in a beautiful place with a lot of snow…fast forward a few decades and I have lived in mountain communities with ski resorts and ample amounts of beautiful snow! This winter the snowfall has been incredibly bountiful in the Sierra Nevada mountains. I thought it might be helpful and useful to know a reflexology technique for quickly and deeply warming the body. I’ve used this technique many times, but one of the most memorable times was a regional football game that was a brutally cold Nebraska night. The fans were bundled up well and the players were pretty warm, but the cheerleaders were in short skirts and just their cheer sweaters. At halftime I asked them if they would like to try my reflexology technique and they were excited to volunteer!
The points for overall body warmth are on the outside ear cartilage farthest from the face. From where that cartilage starts, go to the top most point on the ear👂. Squeeze slightly and massage between thumb and index fingertip paying attention to the warmth rising. Next go half way down the outer ear cartilage and squeeze slightly then massage between the thumb and index finger gently. The last ear👂 reflex for warmth is where the outside ear cartilage ends and becomes soft tissue. Squeeze and then massage the end tip of the cartilage between the thumb and index finger. This should produce the rosyness in the face of a warm and happy human. It brings me abundant joy thinking of how much fun everyone can have enjoying winter sports and activities in the magic of snow blankets! Enjoy!
