Four Ways to Use Essential Oils for Relaxation

Living in this fast-paced world can take a toll on your body and mind. To find relief, you would most likely seek the help of professionals. But you don’t always need to go to a massage therapist, chiropractor, or psychotherapist to feel relaxed.

You only need to invest in essential oils. Essential oils can provide on-the-go stress relief and relaxation when the pressures of the day mount and you feel over-worked.

These oils can also help treat some infections and ailments, and they smell great. They range from lavender, lemon, rose, tea tree, ylang-ylang, chamomile, jasmine, and bergamot oil, to name a few. Below, we provide four ways you can infuse them into your everyday routine:

1. Apply a Few Drops of Oil to Pulse Points

Your pulse points include your wrists, your ankles, your heart, and behind your ears. Applying your oils to these points allows the oils to filter quickly into your bloodstream, so you begin to feel relaxed much faster. This method is a quick and easy therapy for when you’re getting worked up or tensed.

Apply only oils suitable for direct contacts with the skin, such as lavender, tea tree, rose, eucalyptus, and sandalwood oils. You must also only apply 1-2 drops as these oils are highly concentrated. You can also dilute them in carrier oils first if you’re unsure how they’ll react to your skin.

2. Put a Few Drops in Your Bath

For a luxurious, stress-relieving, and calming shower, you can add a few drops of any essential oil into your bath water or your shower floor. Lavender, chamomile, and rose oils are good oils to put in your bathwater. You only need to put about 2-7 drops for one bath.

However, the oils aren’t water-soluble and will float to the top of the water and adhere to your skin, which might be irritating. The solution is to mix the oils with carrier oils to dilute them. The most popular carrier oils include coconut, jojoba, and vegetable oils.

3. Put The Oils in a Diffuser

You can use an oil diffuser to fill the air in your home or office with relaxing scents. Oil diffusers work by emitting essential oils in the air, which can help you relax by simply breathing in. Diffusers also help the oils absorb readily into your body and sharpen your senses.

There are essentially four types of diffusers: Ultrasonic diffusers that use ultrasonic vibrations of a plate to dispense oil into the air, heat diffusers that heat the oils till they evaporate, evaporative diffusers that use the wind to dispel the oil, and nebulizer that breaks the oils into atoms to disperse the oils.

4. Put Your Oils on Your Jewelry

It might sound bizarre, but you can infuse some of your essential oils into your jewelry, such as necklaces and bracelets. Terracotta necklaces and leather bracelets, for example, naturally soak in these oils. This can provide you with aromatherapy while you go about your daily activities.

5. Restructure Your Water

Water is important for all of humanity as our bodies are mostly made up of water.  However with water treatment plants, miles of water pipes, contamination of water, and water sold in plastic bottles for our drinking pleasure, I feel a duty to let you in on the way to use crystals for revitalizing water. In nature this process is done through water running over rock.  This allows for the water to recharge, restructure and revitalize making it powerful for all life again.  These nine types of crystal work together in the way nature intended when put in a glass bottle together for 10-15 minutes, your water restructures itself.
