A Serious Clinical Depression

I was working in a vacation ski town when I was called to see a woman who had lost her husband after being his care giver for around six years.  Her friend wanted her to have a nice relaxing treatment so she would sleep well after her journey getting into town.  I gave her a session and at the end she said she couldn’t be happier.  She told me about a time during her husband’s illness when they had gone to Europe for him to be treated.  She got sick and went to a Swiss healing spa. There she received a Clinical Reflexology session which she compared to what I had just done.  She proceeded to ask me about my training and really couldn’t believe her luck in getting a session similar to her Swiss adventure.

The lovely woman proceeded to book several more sessions for herself and her friend who was a psychotherapist with a very persistent clinical depression.

As I worked with this man, I was drawn toward the outside of his left leg near the knee and tibia plateau.  I asked him about what happened, to which he replied, “It was broken in a ski accident around 6 or 7 years ago.”  That fit his depression time-line perfectly!  I then explained how freeing the blood flow in that area would bring about deep healing throughout his entire being.  I told him how that injury made his right side back muscles coil and constrict pulling his spine out of alignment which is a major cause of depression.  Spinal misalignment does not allow the proper flow of dopamine, norepinephrine, serotonin,  and oxytocin that all help regulate how a person feels.

The next day I went back to treat the woman who told me about their evening after his treatment.  Apparently he felt much better because she told me that the entire group they were having dinner with went crazy with applause and laughter when the waitress told him if he couldn’t settle down, he’d have to leave!  We took that as evidence that he was back to his old self…
