A woman who was referred by her friend, came to have a reflexology session. I asked her
the reason for scheduling her appointment and she said, “I want to smell the thanksgiving
turkey! I haven’t been able to smell anything since I was five years old.” I asked what she got
in her nose as a five year old child and she didn’t know.

Before I performed the treatment, I explained to her how the sinus drainage worked letting
her know that what got stuck up her nos would find its way out and that could be troublesome. There is a way through the drainage system where the item could trigger the lungs and chest area causing a significant fever as the body moves it along to be purged. I made sure that she knew that a high fever was very possible. She bravely chose to move ahead with the session.

Upon completion, I set an appointment to check on her. She missed it, so I called to see how
things were moving along. Her husband answered the phone saying she was in the hospital
with a high fever. I asked him to ask her if she needed anything and he said, “I think you’ve
done enough…” I chuckled knowing she was right on schedule.When she had recovered and after Thanksgiving the client made a check up appointment where she thanked me for the use of reflexology allowing her to regain her sense of smell once again!
